DIY For The Holidays

You’ve probably noticed the flurry of DIY projects.  There’s something about colder weather that makes me want to start tons of projects.  This coincides nicely with this season of gift-giving.  I’m posting a variety of projects—some are super easy and some require a little skill.  I’ll try to get a bunch up for you.

Here’s last year’s collection of DIY projects with fun toys, clothes, and beds for your pets or others.

DIY: Super Cute Felt Cat Toys

Feltbirdmousefishtoys

How cute are these detailed cat toys?  Check out this great tutorial on how to make a felt mouse, bird, & fish. These would make nice gifts for your kitty friends.  Download the templates and get sewing. (from Fantastic Toys, Timothy Haugen, the creator notes that these patterns are for personal use and are not to be used for profit)

Friday Fun: A Cat Is A Cop’s Best Friend

This young, black cat LUVS this cop.

DIY: Pretty Birdie Cat Toy

BirdieToys

I love these sweet birds! They’ll make such pretty cat toys, just add a little catnip to the stuffing.  You can download the pattern and it’s clear instructions from Spool.  So go pick some lovely fabric and give it a go.  Spool is a fabric store in Philadelphia that also offers classes.  They have yummy fabrics!

Etsy: Rear Gear

reargearOh lordy, this cracks me up! (no pun intended)  Is your dog or cat embarrassed by his backend?  Rear Gear has got it covered. They have adjustable butt covers—disco ball, air freshener, heart, flower, biohazard, smiley face, #1 ribbon, cupcake, sheriff’s badge, dice.  Make a statement, issue a warning, make someone laugh.  Ha! (thanks, Ange!)
