DNA Database To Identify Dog Doo & CCTV Peeping on Poopers
The town of Vercelli, Italy will be collecting DNA samples from all registered dogs to build a database. Then, any unclaimed piles of poop littering the town will be tested and matched to the poopee resulting in a fine. What do you think the job title will be for that unfortunate job?
Vercelli isn’t the first town to do this. Petah Tikvah, Israel implemented a similar poop DNA program.
Some UK towns are also keeping an eye on dog owners in a creepy, Big Brother way. Four different city councils in the UK —Derby, Bolton, Gateshead and Hartlepool—admitted they have used CCTV surveillance to investigate people not picking up their dog’s poop.
Giant Crocs Shoe For Pet Beds
Noooooooo! The people at Unique Beasts have done the unthinkable. They’ve made a pet bed in the shape of a giant Crocs shoe—they call it the Sasquatch Pet Bed.
Crocs are those brightly colored clogs some people like. The first and only time I tried a pair of these on, I threw up a little in my mouth. Maybe you’ve had to do an intervention for a family member concerning their wearing shoes meant for gnomes. I submit these photos as evidence—adult gnome and child gnome. I have to admit these pet beds are pretty funny. The “shoe” or the base of the bed is made from closed cell resin, is easy to clean, and should be pretty durable. And the washable “sock” liner is clever. They’re only sized for cats and smaller dogs.
