One Reply to “DIY: Make Your Own Automatic Pet Waterer”

  1. I have bought expensive cat waterers in the past without success. They either broke or built up nasty deposits. I recently bought an inexpensive beta fish tank at PetsMart(sans fish) with a small bio charcoal filter and pump and set it up near my kitchen sink. (My cats always drank from the faucet and I would have to leave it dripping) The pump circulates the water and they love drinking from the falling water from the pump. I put some large glass beads in the bottom to collect any debris. The water stays crystal clear. I use only filtered water. My cats will spend minutes at a time drinking from this fountain and I know they are getting the required amount of water in their diet to stay healthy. Now my kitchen faucet can stay off and I save on water. This is a great idea for cat owners.
