Earth Day: 30-Day Green Cat Challenge

Earth Day is Thursday April 22nd—here’s a great way to kickstart the week.  Last year, Holly Tse at Little Green Cat issued a 30-Day Green Cat Challenge. For 30 days, she looked at ways to give her cat a “green makeover” and she has some really good ideas.

A few of my favorites are:

Holly also has a book, Make You Own Cat Toys: Saving The Planet One Cat Toy At A Time.

No Mouse, No Problem! Cat Loves iPad!

The new Apple iPad has gotten strong reactions from people—positive and negative.  Some people criticize that Apple is too controlling, but other people praise the iPad’s utility and intuitive ease of use.   I’m thinking Iggy the kitty makes a strong argument for utility and intuitive ease of use.  Now I want one! Broken Umbrellas Upcycled Into Dog Raincoats

I love this!  Taryn Zychal had the great idea to take sad, broken umbrellas and transform them into cute raincoats for dogs. She has an etsy shop where you can get a coat for your dog big or small.  Kitties aren’t left out because she even makes cat toys from umbrella scraps.  Taryn was a finalist for the prestigious Cooper Hewitt People’s Design Award.  She was also asked to make a couple of her coats for Martha Stewart’s French Bulldogs, Francesca and Sharky.  Nifty!
