Honda has a dog-friendly car for the Japanese market called the W.O.W. (Wonderful Open-hearted Wagon). It has a small dog crate for a glove box, a back seat that can be made into a larger pen, removable and washable seat cushions, and a wood floor that can be removed and cleaned. It took her less than a day to build using mostly materials you can find at Home Depot or the like. Be sure you use sisal that doesn’t reek of oil, kerosene, etc. You probably won’t find that in most hardware stores. The stuff I’ve seen at Home Depot was too heavily oiled.
